BSHS Guard Now Lexington’s Top Scorer
Bryan Station High's boys' basketball team on the court

Fayette County Public Schools sends a shoutout to Amari Owens, a senior guard at Bryan Station High School, who is now the citywide record-holder for most points scored in a boys’ high school basketball career.

Averaging over 25 points per game this season, Amari hit the 2,534-point mark on Feb. 17 – fittingly at home on Senior Night – and he’s not done yet as the district tournament is still to come.

The previous record was 2,517 career points, set by a Lexington Christian Academy player in 2019.

Amari, who expects to stockpile some postseason honors, has committed to Eastern Kentucky University.
